The wind whips like a dervish.
Its sound crescendos above the drone of planes engines and tires slicing through slick pavement.
How blessed am I to enveloped in a cocoon as nature runs rampant in the dark.
Cat curled beside me, warm and rhythmic vibrating contentedly.
White noise hums steady and soft, thoughts slow into twilight as I become weightless.
Sound transcends the earth, like electric waves cresting toward its spheres,
Breath and heartbeat slowing.
Energy and life, unseen beyond the physical, looks down upon me.
Sleep conjoins the realms of physical and spiritual, transporters to the unconscious.
I project to the unknown and awaken again at dawn to a world of new light.
