Quotes for twentysomethings to let you know we’re all in this together.

I remember my 20's, vaguely. It was a long time ago. I was clueless then and now that I’m in my 60's, I have to admit that I still question myself. There will never be a time in my life that I have all the answers or don’t experience a certain amount of fear of the unknown.

And it’s the same for everyone.

It’s just that as I got older, I arrived at an “ah-ha” place and began to understand that I was never going to be perfect, all I could do was my best. And that is perfect. Mistakes are okay as long as you learn from them. Our best is not a static thing, it changes from day-to-day and sometimes hour-to-hour. (The Four Agreements, Don Miguel Ruiz)

Times have changed, though and more is expected of 20-somethings. It’s okay, really. One thing all 20-somethings have had in common since the beginning of time is that it’s a transition period. You enter the adult world, take on the responsibility of supporting yourself and win the independence you’ve been screaming for, for years. And it scares the crap out of you.

Freedom is not easy.

It’s a transition, one of the biggest ones you’ll go through, and transitions are changes and changes are hard. Period.
